This collection consists of 4 scrapbooks and 4 boxes. The scrapbooks contain newspaper clippings from Michigan newspapers about the prison riots of April 1952 at the State Prison of Southern Michigan at Jackson. Several clippings have "Warden Heyns" written at the top of them. Two scrapbooks appear to be a log of Warden Joel Moore of the Michigan Reformatory of Ionia, MI. These cover from Nov. 1941 when he was sworn in until about March 1942. These scrapbooks include handwritten notes and information about individual prisoners' parole dates and destinations. The fourth scrapbook contains clippings about Garrett Heyns. It also includes a broadside for Garrett Heyns campaign to run for Congress. The boxes contain correspondence, photographs and Christmas Cards from different individuals.
